I spent 20 minutes writing a thoughtful post on the founding of ASCN and why it still generates hard feelings 8 months later. And steps ASCN could have taken to avoid creating such hard feelings amongst their former alliance mates if they had cared. And then I hit the post reply button and the entire thing vanished. So here's my new post. ASCN 4 teh suck! I can't be bothered to write the whole damn thing over again.
When ASCN was formed whatever their reasons valid or not they left a lot of former mates feeling betrayed. ASCN has never sought to make amends or even apologize. They don't feel they have a need to do so. By not doing so they made former friends into bitter enemies. As you can tell from the original poster's post it's 8 months later and the hard feelings haven't faded. If ASCN falls a large part of it will be that they ****ed off people who used to be their friends when they didn't have to.

It is very easy to step over your own rules. But once you stepped - you`ll do it again, and again. And everytime you`ll find execuses for yourself. "We can`t do that, blah blah, blah".
XF read eve-o forums. That was theyr main mistake. "If you are looking @ enemy stats - you are allready lose" (c)
They did a good job doing so. I'm suprised that so many people fell for it. Even with the low turnout of pilots in XF and the constant battling over stations day in and day out 5 never broke Xetic. It was Xetic members who did the deed and broke their own alliance.

The great part Fitz is that you can be a great guy and still hate ASCN! When someone has a well deserved reputation for treachery you get to despise them and still feel good about yourself! But it's good seeing you and Joram again. I hate your alliance but they are some very cool pilots in it.

TBH Xetic was killed from inside. We had just come off a series of empire wars. I think we had 11 entities war dec us at once? Including the MC. I know that I personally was short of isk when the war with the 5 started. I remember when war broke out I was think that someone screwed up big time, that the timing was the absolute worst possible for Xetic as we hadn't had time to recoup. Xetic had lots of problems. But in the end it still took it's own leaders knifing it in the back for the dream that was Xetic to die.
